Unofficial Media & Training (UMT) is a social enterprise and private limited company based in Ireland that specialises in non-formal, practical, and hands-on digital media education. The organisation was established following several years of delivering community-based digital media training within the voluntary sector, and it continues to focus on supporting diverse groups of learners through innovative and accessible learning methods. UMT works closely with young migrants, LGBTQIA+ individuals, NEETs, early school leavers, youth workers, and young people, helping them to develop practical digital skills while building confidence, creativity, and employability.<\/p>\n
The organisation offers a wide range of training programmes across digital media fields, including audio production, music technology, video capture and editing, photography, animation, graphic design, copywriting with AI tools such as ChatGPT, and digital media literacy. These trainings are designed to be highly interactive and learner-centred, combining technical skill development with creativity and collaboration. UMT also integrates modern educational approaches such as gamification, simulation, and adaptive learning to make training more engaging and effective.<\/p>\n
